The sounds of silence

With so much noise in our everyday lives, you would think the move towards hybrid and electric vehicles, with their all-but silent operation would be a welcome future trend.

 In someways it is.

But consider that the audible cues of a car’s approach can help aide in safety, especially with pedestrian and bicycle traffic. Consider the challenges that a sight-impaired individual may have with the new breed of noiseless cars. Welcome to the world of quiet vehicle (QV) safety studies.
